Travelling to Europe and North Africa
• ID and passport: thanks to Schengen agreements, upon arrival at the inner customs of almost all European Union member countries, passengers do not undergo any customs checks and EU citizens can freely circulate simply with their ID valid for expatriation. Active Schengen member countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Iceland and Norway (though the latter two countries are not EU members). As regards EU countries that did not sign the agreements (for example, Ireland and the United Kingdom) as well as Non-EU member countries, passengers must travel with their passport except for cases where bilateral agreements exist.
• Visas: to enter any EU countries, non-EU citizens must apply for a visa from the Embassy or Consulate of the country of destination.
The shortest time limit for passengers to check-in varies depending on whether you leave from Italy or from a foreign country. For this reason, we suggest that you see our short practical guide book.
With Fast Check-in it takes you less than a minute to get your boarding pass. Fast check-in machines are available at any Italian Airport.
